What you’re licensing, and what you can build with it.

Available now

South Africa includes available national and provincial legislation, plus the municipal by-laws we hold. We maintain collections in six African jurisdictions, and can supply several more that we scope and quote individually.

In every plan

Canonical identifiers, jurisdiction, source provenance and a public source link, so your product can always cite the law it relies on and show where it came from.

Named product and derived data

Content is licensed for one named product or environment, including all of your own customers who use it. Protected internal indexes, chunks, embeddings and caches are allowed where necessary for that product. Training or fine-tuning a model on the collection needs written approval.

Source transparency

Outputs that rely on supplied legislation must carry a usable citation, a link to the canonical public text and a visible “Legislation data supplied by Laws.Africa” credit. A data-sources page must describe the collection and our role.

Commercial reuse

Build value-added products. Not raw content for resale, onward data feeds, a competing legal database or a substitute for this service. White-labelling your product for another business to run as its own is a separate arrangement — ask us early.

Terms and pricing

Prices exclude VAT. Licences are annual and normally paid in advance. Content API access is sales-assisted: support, delivery and standard terms are confirmed before we provision.

Public access to primary law remains free. The Content API is for teams that need a maintained country collection inside their own systems. Paying for it never restricts what anyone can read on the public legal-information sites we support.
Not sure this is the right shape? Knowledge Bases give you managed retrieval, search and AI grounding without holding a corpus yourself. Or, a single current Act as a static PDF, HTML and XML asset is R3,500 once-off. Contact us and we’ll help you choose the right option.

Request a coverage report for your country.

Tell us the country, the product you’re building and how current the law has to be. We’ll come back with what we hold, which package fits and what it costs.
